Cooperative Placement with Windsor Fire Services - First Semester

Jeff Lefaive
Grade 11 Student
Holy Names High School

Jeff enjoys volunteer work and has been involved in many activities such as:
  • Youth hockey
  • Downtown Mission
  • Windsor South Little League
Jeff enjoys helping the seniors in his neighbourhood and understands the importance of helping those in your community. Jeff would like to become a firefighter and is “not only interested in preventing tragedies but assisting those in tragic circumstances as well”.

Jared Ferencik
Belle River District High School

Jared has three main focuses in his future:
  • Law & Security
  • Business
  • Firefighting
He feels that, at this time, firefighting best suits him and he is going to take this co-op opportunity to explore this profession.

This is what Jared had to say on the subject of firefighting …

“This job is about respect and courage, two things I believe I have a lot of. Saving lives while doing your job.  Is there any better duty?”

Tythia Brown
Herman High School

Tyitha is taking this opportunity to coop at Windsor Fire & Rescue Services for two reasons:
  • Firstly, to spend some time with children teaching fire safety at the Children’s Safety Village.  Tyitha understands the importance of teaching the children who will represent our future success or failure.  She recognizes the need for respect and patience and can’t wait to gain some teaching experience.
  • Secondly, to prove herself as a strong, hardworking young woman capable of becoming a firefighter one day.
“I want to show the girls under me that they too can do anything and I want to be an example for them”.

Chris Arsenault
Villanova High School

Chris Arsenault wants a career that requires him to be physically fit and allows him to spend time with the family. These are the two priorities in his life and he feels that firefighting would fit his aspirations to a tee. Chris stated that “Firefighting is my dream job, and it is a job that I am willing to work incredibly hard to get.”

Chris describes himself as a positive person who hates negativity and we look forward to his optimistic attitude around the fire hall.

Steve Anderson
Essex High School

Steve Anderson is looking for a career that challenges him both mentally and physically and that contributes to the community. He recognizes that firefighting is not only about fighting fire but also about educating the public on matters of safety.

Steve has firefighting in his blood and is inspired by his uncle and his tales of firefighting and training.

He is truly a team player and feels the job of firefighter would allow him to make a difference in peoples' lives, “whether it be somebody the team rescued or somebody on the team”.
