Attention Patch Collectors - NOTICE 03-103 Requests For Shoulder Flashes
Printer Friendly Page

In the past, requests for shoulder flashes, etc. have come into Windsor Fire & Rescue Services via the website, by regular mail and/or by phone. However, because emergency services agencies, world wide, must be more security conscious Windsor Fire & Rescue Services will no longer send shoulder flashes, etc. simply on request.

Effective today, if the collector is a firefighter, the Chief of his/her department must submit the request on letterhead on the firefighter's behalf. Collectors who are not members of a fire service will have to ask their local fire department to submit a request for them.

This recommendation will also be sent to the CAFC/OAFC/IAFF/IAFC and the OFM so that the flashes are not used for the wrong purposes. Intelligence information from Europe has indicated thefts of uniform pieces and Windsor Fire & Rescue Services will support efforts to maintain the security of emergency services.
