Fire Safety Day
Saturday October 6, 2007

Windsor Fire & Rescue Services will be teaming up with Canadian Tire to promote fire safety on Fire Safety Day scheduled for Saturday, October 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  Personnel will be at all three Canadian Tire stores (addresses listed below) to provide fire safety information and advice: 
  • 4150 Walker Road
  • 2650 Tecumseh Road West
  • 8505 Tecumseh Road East
World’s Largest School Fire Drill
Thursday, October 11, 2007


On Thursday, October 11, 2007 between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Windsor Fire & Rescue Services and all other fire departments throughout Ontario challenge every principal, custodian, volunteer, teacher and student to get out of school safely in the world’s largest school fire drill. 

This province-wide fire drill is being organized to increase public fire safety awareness and to encourage children to practice home escape plans.  For more information to go the Fire Marshal’s Public Fire Safety Council website at www.firesafetycouncil.com

Kick-Off Dinner
Tuesday, October 9, 2007 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Windsor Fire & Rescue Services is hosting a kick-off dinner at the Fogolar Furlan Club,1800 E.C. Row, with special guests, Windsor Spitfires. This event is designed to raise awareness of fire prevention and to kick-off the week of events.

From 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Windsor Fire & Rescue fire halls (listed below)

Station No. 8, 2650 Airport Road

The public is welcome to attend their neighbourhood firehall between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. to tour the station and pick up fire safety information.
