    Portable Lithium Polymer Battery Packs

     

    Product description

    This recall involves portable lithium polymer battery packs with model number T10400. The affected product is a black or grey handheld rectangular battery pack that measures 10 x 7 x 2 centimeters and has two USB outputs and four blue LED lights. PNY is written along the bottom of the front of the battery packs. All date codes are included in the recall. The affected product has TUV Rheinland certification file number US 72133343.

     

    Hazard identified

    The batteries can overheat and vent flames, posing fire and burn hazards.

    Neither Health Canada nor PNY Technologies Inc. has received any reports of consumer incidents or injuries related to the use of these battery packs in Canada.

    PNY Technologies Inc. has received one report of the product venting with flame from a consumer in the United States.
