    Affected products

    MR. STEAK four-burner and five-burner gas patio grills

     

    Product description

    The recall involves four-burner and five-burner models of MR. STEAK propane gas grills, that have both a fuel gauge and a fuel line that is not attached to the inside of the grill. The grills are stainless steel with black trim and have four or five black and red dials. The words “MR. STEAK” are printed below the thermometer on the grills’ lid. The recall also applies to SKUs 2366916 and 2366917 if the consumer added an aftermarket fuel gauge to the regulator assembly. A label on the inside of the left compartment door or on the back of the grill identifies the model number of the grill. The SKU is printed on the purchase receipt.

    Hazard identified

    The gas regulator hose with attached fuel gauge can melt if it comes in contact with the bottom of the grill’s firebox, posing a fire hazard.

    As of December 9, 2019, the company has received 2 reports of grill fires in Canada, and no reports of injuries. In the United States, the company has received 7 reports of grill fires, and no reports of injuries.

     

    Number sold

    Approximately 400 units of the affected product were sold in Canada and approximately 3,300 were sold in the United States.

     

    Time period sold

    The affected products were sold from May 2017  to July 2019.

     

    What you should do

    Consumers should immediately stop using the affected grills and contact MR. STEAK for a free repair kit.

    For more information, consumers may contact MR. STEAK toll-free at 833-677-8325 or 833-MRSTEAK from 8 AM to 6 PM ET Monday through Friday, or online and click on “RECALL” or visit this page.

    Consumers may view the release by the US CPSC on the Commission’s website (http://www.cpsc.gov/Recalls/2020/Bass-Pro-Recalls-MR-STEAK-Gas-Grills-Due-to-Fire-Hazard).

    Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada.

    Health Canada would like to remind Canadians to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form.
