“PUSH THE BUTTON!”
Windsor Fire and Rescue Services have teamed up with TVOKids and the Office of the Fire Marshal to raise awareness about testing smoke alarms.
“Working smoke alarms do save lives, so go ahead and “Push the Button” on all of your smoke alarms before Daylight Savings Time ends on Sunday, November 2, 2014” says Fire Chief Bruce Montone. “Remember to change the battery on any alarms that don’t sound or if the battery has not been changed in the last year.”
Parents, give kids permission to test the smoke alarms in your home and they can enter into TVOKids interactive smoke alarm the number of alarms they have tested at www.tvokids.com/features/pushbutton. The number will be added into TVO Kids “Push the Button!” counter and kids can print off their own “Push the Button” certificate.
Let’s help make Windsor homes safer by participating in this province-wide initiative to get as many homes as possible to check smoke alarms during the campaign period running from Monday, October 6 to Sunday, October 19, 2014.
