    West Elm Industrial Task Table Lamps

     

    Product description

    This recall involves West Elm Industrial Task table lamps with manufacture dates after March 2014. The metal lamps have an on/off switch and an adjustable arm that locks at two angles. The head of the lamp has a tension that allows it to swivel to direct light. Some models have a USB port in the base. The lamps were sold in various colours and are about 84 centimeters (33 inches) tall and 18 centimeters (7 inches) in diameter at the base.

    The SKU is found on the label located on the underside of the base, along with the date of manufacture in “letter/YY” format, for example “C/14” is March 2014.

     

    Hazard identified

    The electrical wire that runs through the lamps can be cut or frayed by the lamp’s adjustable joint, posing both an electrical shock hazard and a fire hazard from shorting, sparking, and overheating.

    As of December 14, 2017, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.
