Chief Stephen Laforet
Chief Stephen Laforet joined Windsor Fire & Rescue Services in 1990 as a probationary firefighter. During his career Chief Laforet has served as a firefighter, officer and training officer. In 2011 Chief Laforet was promoted to the rank of Deputy Chief of Operations; as a member of the Fire Management Team he was responsible for leading the Fire Rescue and Training Divisions.
Chief Laforet was promoted to Fire Chief on April 1, 2017 and is also the Essex County Mutual Aid Coordinator and the Community Emergency Management Coordinator for the City of Windsor.
Chief Laforet is dedicated to the health welfare and safety of the citizens of Windsor as well as the fire service community.
Chief Laforet is a Certified Municipal Manager, CMM III and holds certificates in Fire Service Leadership and Fire Service Administration from Dalhousie University and is currently working towards his Masters of Public Administration Degree.
