Windsor Fire & Rescue Services has four specialty teams.

Members of these teams receive specialized training. The Medical and Auto Extrication teams provide instruction to our staff, while the USAR (Urban Search and Rescue) and HAZMAT (Hazardous Materials Response Team) teams are deployable who, when called upon, report to the scene for highly specialized work.

Mission Statement:

“To elevate the level of response offered through specialized rescue, search, medical and structural assessment skills delivered by a mobile and highly integrated team.”

“Structural collapse is one of those high-risk, low-probability incidents where you don’t get them very often and, similar to HAZMAT, you don’t just rush in because there’s a lot of things to consider before you do that.”
